American Family elects Zwettler vice president of Personal Lines

Madison, Wis. (March 6, 2003) - The board of directors of American Family Insurance Group has elected Joseph J. Zwettler as vice president of Personal Lines.

In his new position, Zwettler will oversee design, underwriting, loss control and administration of American Family property and auto insurance policies. Personal Lines is the third largest division at American Family with more than 680 employees.

Zwettler moves to his new position after two years as director of product design. He joined American Family in 1972 as an underwriter, and also served in the capacities of underwriting director, research and control, and underwriting director for property and auto lines.

Zwettler succeeds Jack C. Salzwedel, who was recently elected vice president of American Family Life Insurance Company, a subsidiary of American Family Insurance Group.

"Joe's experience and understanding of American Family and our Personal Lines Division are very strong after three decades with the company," says Darnell Moore, executive vice president of administration. "He is committed to continuing and initiating changes and programs to ensure customer retention, profitability and growth of our major lines of business."
