Kari Grasee Elected Vice President, Controller at American Family Insurance

Madison, Wis. (July 21, 2006) — Kari Grasee has been elected vice president, controller at American Family Insurance, 6000 American Parkway. Grasee begins her new responsibilities Aug. 1.

Grasee succeeds Dan Schultz, who was promoted earlier this year to chief financial officer/treasurer, following the retirement of Executive Vice President Brent Johnson. In her new position, Grasee will oversee the company’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax and treasury areas.

A native of Portage, Wis., Grasee joined American Family in 1996 working in the tax area. She was named an accounting manager in 2001 and promoted to accounting director in 2003. She also serves as financial operations principal for American Family Securities LLC.

Prior to her career at American Family, Grasee worked at the accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche and then as a tax analyst at Wisconsin Power & Light Company. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Minnesota. She is a certified public accountant.
