Brad Gleason, Carolyn Gilb Elected to Officer Positions at American Family Insurance

Madison, Wis. (Sept. 7, 2006) — The board of directors of American Family Mutual Insurance Company has elected Brad Gleason executive vice president and Carolyn Gilb sales vice president for the company’s Northwest Region .

Gleason will have executive responsibility for the company’s life and health insurance operations, customer billing, American Family Financial Services and American Family Brokerage, Inc.

“Brad’s extensive knowledge of American Family finances and his experience as an officer for the past 16 years give him a solid background for his new responsibilities,” says Jack Salzwedel, chief operating officer.

Gleason most recently served as vice president of American Family’s Actuarial Division. He joined American Family in 1976 as an underwriter and served in various director capacities in the Actuarial Division before his election as vice president in 1990.

Gleason earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with a minor in chemistry, from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Carloyn Gilb elected sales vice president
Gilb most recently served as a sales director in Colorado, a position she has held since January 2005. She joined the company in 1998 as an agent in Phoenix and later served as a district sales manager for southern Arizona. Before her American Family career, she was a sales manager for another property/casualty insurance company, an executive recruiter and controller for a mid-sized company.

“Carolyn has the leadership skills and strong organizational abilities to successfully manage field operations in the Northwest Region as sales vice president,” says Al Meyer, executive vice president. “She understands the dynamics of successful team-building.”

The Northwest Sales Region consists of five states: Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota and Washington.

Carolyn received a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in business administration from Western International University in Phoenix. She has also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF) designations.
