American Family Insurance contributes more than $150,000 to Haiti earthquake relief

Madison, Wis. (Feb. 9, 2010) — In just two short weeks, American Family Insurance, its employees and agents have contributed more than $150,000 to Haiti earthquake recovery efforts, the company announced today.

Results of the campaign include:

American Family had previously announced a corporate match up to $50,000, but the amount was raised in order to cover the final individual donation total of more than $70,000.

The $150,000 total also includes the $10,000 American Family pledged shortly after the earthquake to the Haitian chapter of Partners in Health. The U.S.-based non-profit organization is focused on providing high-quality health care to impoverished areas around the world.

American Family has more than 7,600 employees and 3,800 agents in 19 states.

"This was a team effort from employees and agents across the country who showed an outpouring of care and compassion," said Rick Fetherston, vice president of public relations. "It's a proud moment for all of us."
