Clifford BE BIG! campaign, sponsored by American Family Insurance, promotes volunteerism, civic engagement and community action

Madison, Wis. (April 19, 2010) —National Volunteer Week is April 18 – 24, and American Family Insurance reminds everyone to consider an entry in the Scholastic Clifford BE BIG! campaign. The multi-year, nationwide program promotes volunteerism by inviting everyone to take action and raise awareness for how Clifford's BIG ideas (Share, Play Fair, Have Respect, Work Together, Be Responsible, Be a Good Friend, Help Others, Be Truthful, Be Kind and Believe in Yourself) can make the world a better place.

The campaign invites individuals or groups to submit a BIG idea in the "Be Big in Your Community Contest." Entries can be submitted either via the link from American Family's campaign Web site at or via the mail through June 30, 2010. Winning ideas will be chosen in October.

One grand prize, ten (10) first place and nineteen (19) second place honorees will be chosen in October 2010 on a number of criteria including feasibility, creativity, sustainability and impact.
