Nevada DMV Requirements

When Renewing Nevada Auto Insurance,
Confirm Changes with DMV

Nevada drivers, when renewing your auto insurance or making any changes to your policy
please confirm the state Department of Motor Vehicles has your correct information (that is, the
exact information that appears on your American Family proof of insurance card).

By doing so, you could prevent delays and confusion if asked by a law enforcement agent to provide proof of insurance.

This requirement is part of the Nevada LIVE program, designed to ensure all state drivers have auto insurance, as required by law.

Submit Your Insurance Verification Online

Go to the Nevada DMV website and select the Insurance Policy Update link. You’ll be prompted through the verification process and asked to provide:

  • Your full name

  • Your date of birth

  • Your vehicle identification number (VIN)

  • The last four characters on your license plate

  • Your driver’s license number
